For over fifty-five years, Toronto Malayalee Samajam (TMS) has been a vibrant pillar of our community in Toronto, celebrating our rich culture and heritage. As a voice of Kerala away from home, it plays a vital role in preserving our traditions and fostering unity among Malayalees.
The Toronto Malayalee Samajam (TMS), established in 1968, is the premier and most prominent Malayalee cultural organization in North America. Over the years, TMS has been actively promoting Kerala’s traditions, festivals, and community interactions in the Greater Toronto Area.
TMS was born out of an existential need, a lifeline for the early Keralites in Toronto who, few in those days, longed for connection, battled loneliness, and sought to stay informed about the daily happenings back home in Kerala.
To preserve and promote Malayalee heritage in Canada through cultural programs, community engagement, and intergenerational connections. To unite Malayalee in Toronto, celebrate Kerala’s rich traditions, support community welfare, and propagate cultural values to future generations.

Foster social and cultural integration of the Malayalee community and promote South Indian art and culture within the Greater Toronto Area.
Organize social activities and cultural programs that encourage cultural exchange, build awareness, and enrich the multicultural fabric of Canada.
Encourage academic excellence by awarding scholarships, bursaries, and prizes to deserving youth within the Kerala community.
Offer financial assistance to those in need through platforms like GoFundMe, and extend support and relief to individuals affected by natural disasters or other crises.Organize educational programs and skill-building activities for children.
TMS serves as a gathering place and a bridge between generations, where tradition meets the present. It is a space where we continue to learn about our heritage and culture, while offering younger generations a meaningful connection to their ancestral land.

Lifetime Membership: $150 for Canadian citizens or permanent residents.
Student membership: $50 for international students or open work-permit holders, valid for 5 years, with limited voting rights.
TMS's main office is located at 430 Passmore Avenue, Scarborough, ON, Canada. It is the first and only Malayalee organization to own and operate two fully functional buildings that are accessible for private and corporate events.
